Why Dads Love Doulas (other family and friends do, too)
A doula doesn’t replace anyone – she’s a member of the birth team who supports everyone else in their own role.
She can help the father-to-be participate at his own comfort level by showing him how and when to use comfort
techniques; she provides him with information as the birth unfolds, and in some cases the doula
is the main support for the dad so the mother-to-be doesn’t have to be.
Partners are usually grateful to share the “coaching” job with someone more experienced and relaxed!
